DRUIDS

The Druid religion, also called Druidry or Druidism, is still alive today, sharing a strong connection with nature and the earth and belief in the importance of the bond between people and the land. They have some things in common with other religions, such as the meaning of life, what happens after we die, and the nature of reality. However, Druids don’t worship in church buildings or have their own bible or written scriptures. They also don’t have a system of authority, so there are no leaders or rule books.  Some Druids are monotheistic, believing in a single Deity such as a Goddess or Great Spirit. Others are duotheistic, and believe that there are two spiritual forces, such as a God and a Goddess. Some are polytheistic and believe in many Goddesses and Gods. Those who are pantheists believe that a Great Spirit, Goddess, or God, is present in everything around us. Druids are probably most similar to the Wiccan religion, with rites of passage, rituals, and spellwork. Seeking spiritual truths in nature and harmony with themselves, those around them, and the world of nature, are important concepts for Druids.
